“Resulting from sighting of an alien ship inside Imphal managed airspace, two flights have been diverted and three departing flights have been delayed. Flight operations start after receipt of clearance from the competent authority,” a press release issued by Airport Director Chipemmi Keishing was quoted by PTI in its report.

An Air Visitors Management (ATC) officer acknowledged that round 2.30 p.m., they obtained a communication from the CISF notifying them {that a} UFO had been found close to the airport. “The UFO was seen with naked eyes transferring westwards of the airfield until 4 pm,” the official mentioned.
One of many diverted planes was an Indigo flight from Calcutta, which was first requested “to carry overhead” earlier than being redirected to Guwahati after 25 minutes.
The delayed flights, however, took off from Imphal airport three hours later after gaining permission.
