Singapore’s Japanese Pacific Transport (EPS) has signed up for extra ammonia dual-fuel newcastlemax newbuilds in China.
The Idan Ofer-controlled diversified shipowner has firmed up orders for 3 further 210,000 dwt items at CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding for supply in 2027 and added 4 extra optionally available vessels, taking its potential order tally on the yard to 10.
The order follows three ships booked earlier this yr set to ship between the third and fourth quarters of 2026, with choices for 3 extra.
EPS is believed to be paying round $80m per ship, or $480m for six ships in whole, and doubtlessly $800m if all choices are known as.
