Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) and its three way partnership associate Tidal Transit have tapped Singapore-based shipbuilder Strategic Marine for the development of a hybrid-ready crew switch vessel so as to add to their fleet servicing offshore wind farms in France.
France-based LD Tide presently owns and manages a fleet of three CTVs to switch technicians to the 480 MW Saint-Nazaire wind farm off the French coast.
The order for the so-called StratCat 27 designed by BMT is the primary the corporate has positioned for a vessel to be constructed at a non-French yard. The unit will as soon as delivered be employed by wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa for the operation and upkeep of the 497 MW Fécamp offshore wind farm
Edouard Louis-Dreyfus, president of LDA, mentioned: “We’re excited to be working with Strategic Marine on this new undertaking and are assured the brand new vessel will contribute to our fleet operations as we place ourselves as a key participant of the French offshore wind trade.”
