A person in his 70s was hospitalised following an aggravated housebreaking in Co Westmeath over the weekend.
The incident occurred within the early hours of Saturday morning, September 2, and the person in his early 70s was assaulted at a residence in Athlone by quite a few people.
The person was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, the place he was handled for non-life threatening accidents.
