More women than ever before to be remembered with blue plaques in London

Among the many pioneering girls being remembered are Christina Broom, who’s believed to have been Britain’s first feminine press photographer; Diana Beck, celebrated because the UK’s first feminine neurosurgeon; the jazz singer, Adelaide Corridor, one of many first Black girls to safe a long-term contract on the BBC; and Irene Barclay, the primary lady to qualify as a chartered surveyor.
