The transition comes because the group faces a federal class-action lawsuit for allegedly artificially inflating commissions paid to actual property brokers, TheGrio reported.
The outlet reported that on Oct. 31, a federal Kansas Metropolis, Missouri, jury ordered the NAR and a few recognized actual property brokerages within the U.S. to pay damages of almost $1.8 billion. A jury discovered that the NAR “conspired to require residence sellers to pay the dealer representing the client of their houses in violation of federal antitrust legislation.” Roughly 500,000 residence sellers in Missouri and close by cities are the plaintiffs within the class-action lawsuit that filed in 2019, TheGrio reported.
