The Poultry Trade Affiliation of New Zealand (PIANZ) is the newest trade group to enroll to the Authorities Trade Settlement for Biosecurity Readiness and Response (GIA).
PIANZ represents the pursuits of roughly 99% of poultry meat producers in New Zealand.
In a signing ceremony yesterday (21 June), attended by Biosecurity Minister Damien O’Connor and senior representatives from the Ministry for Main Industries (MPI), PIANZ joins 23 different trade sectors which have agreed to work with the Authorities, and one another, to fight the specter of an incursion of a pest or illness considerably impacting New Zealand’s major industries.
GIA chair, Dave Harrison, says PIANZ’s choice to affix the partnership is welcomed.
